What problems should be paid attention to in the process of using the rotary evaporator?

When we use the rotary evaporator, in addition to correctly mastering the use method of the instrument, we also need to know some precautions for the use of the instrument. What should we pay attention to when using rotary evaporator? Let's have a look.

1. The connection of glass parts should be placed gently, and should be cleaned, dried or dried before installation.

2. Apply vacuum grease to each grinding, sealing surface, sealing ring and joint before installation.

3. The heating tank must be filled with water before being powered on, and it is not allowed to dry without water.

4. Screw into the safety hole to avoid damaging the flask.

5. If the vacuum cannot be pumped up, it needs to be checked.

① Whether the connectors and interfaces are sealed.

② Whether the sealing ring and sealing surface are effective.

③ The vacuum grease is between the main shaft and the sealing ring.

④ Whether the vacuum pump and its leather pipe have air leakage.

⑤ Whether the glass parts have cracks, cracks and damage.

6. About vacuum degree

Vacuum degree is an important process parameter of rotary evaporator. Users often encounter the problem that vacuum degree cannot be reached. This is often related to the nature of the dissolving agent. Biochemical and pharmaceutical industries often use water, ethanol, acetic acid, petroleum ether, etc. as dissolving agents, while general vacuum pumps cannot resist strong organic dissolving agents, and special vacuum pumps with strong corrosion resistance can be selected. (it is recommended to use water circulation vacuum pump, which is sold by our company)

Method to check whether the instrument leaks: clamp the external vacuum tube, observe the vacuum gauge on the instrument, and keep it free of leakage for 5 minutes. If there is air leakage, check whether the sealing ring on the sealing joint and rotating shaft is effective (see maintenance). On the contrary, if the instrument is normal, check the vacuum pump and vacuum pipeline.

7. About motor temperature rise

The instrument adopts three-phase, 220V motor with class E insulation, and the winding adopts high-fat strength coating wrapping wire. When the altitude is not more than 1000 meters, and the ambient temperature is not more than 40 ℃, it is normal for the surface temperature of the motor to rise (the difference between the surface temperature of the motor and the ambient temperature) not more than 45 ℃ in continuous use, and when the temperature rises more than 45 ℃.
