There are three basic causes of human diseases: diet, respiration and contact (infection). After basically meeting the first level material needs of food, clothing, housing and transportation, one of the major key challenges facing modern society is the food safety and air quality problems that the public is increasingly paying close attention to. The European Union's Seventh Research and development framework program (FP7) provides 3.5 million euros in funding, with a total R & D investment of 4.9 million euros. The European iaqsense R & D team is composed of more than 10 scientific research institutions and innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from five EU Member States. Using the three patented technologies independently developed, we have successfully developed an intelligent and highly sensitive real-time detection technology and device for indoor air quality. Because its structure is mainly composed of induction device and digital display screen, its size is very small, and it can be conveniently fixed in public places such as homes, offices, cars or built-in smart phones, which can detect air quality anytime and anywhere.

Studies have shown that poor air quality may lead to discomfort such as fatigue, headache and more serious diseases. According to the statistics of the European Lung Foundation (ELF), inefficient labor and sick leave caused by respiratory diseases cost Europe an average of 102 billion euros a year, and warned that indoor air pollution was on average 10 times higher than outdoor air pollution. In particular, in order to strengthen energy conservation and emission reduction, European Union countries have recently introduced building "air tight" regulations and measures, which have increased the degree of indoor air pollution. Indoor air pollution mainly comes from various types of low concentration "volatile organic compounds", as well as chemical components and microorganisms. Up to now, the accurate detection and analysis of air quality still need expensive instruments and equipment.

The research objectives of iaqsense R & D team are simple and clear: low cost, high sensitivity, selectivity, safety, reliability and mass production. Advanced biological nano sensing technology plays a major role, in which the surface ion mobility dynamics separation technology developed by the R & D team plays an important "unique" role. Its main working principle: the air sampling of the sensor, after the multi gas detection, separation and digital processing of the high sensitivity spectrometer (spectrometer), the data is wirelessly transmitted to the Internet "cloud computing" processing system, and the user can obtain the feedback information of the required air quality according to the choice (depending on the payment). The head of the research and development team added: "the public's concern about air quality largely comes from the lack of accurate information. The new technology will allow users to independently control indoor air quality, which is actually a great psychological comfort.".
